Cuisine: Lebanese, Mediterranean, Vegan
Price Point: Mains from $15 - $30

As good as your grandmother’s, or at least founder of Nuba, Victor Bouzide’s grandmother’s recipes.

Started in 2003 as a way to showcase the goodness of Lebanese food, Nuba is now a staple of the Mount Pleasant scene. This candy and pastel-coloured eatery is a mood-altering alcove away from the hustle and bustle of the Vancouver hubbub outside its windows.

The food is wholesome and delicious, as Lebanese food should be. Ideal for sharing, classic mezze dishes such as the trio of Nuba dips, pickles and cheese and the garden falafel, a secret recipe from Victor himself, are perfect entrees to get you and your friends started. While main dishes such the lamb sirloin with Lebanese rub offer a heartier option to follow.

You can’t go home without trying some famous Lebanese sweets, such as the baklava, which are completely vegan in Victor’s restaurant, and the pistachio financier complete with seasonal compote and orange blossom cream.

We started our 'Nuba experience' by ordering the Trio of Nuba Dips (came with pita bread), my personal faves were the carrot dip and the hummus, they were creamy and flavorful.
For mains, we ordered the Grilled Saffron Chicken and the Braised Brisket Stew. The chicken was out of this world!! The skin was crispy yet the meat was tender and juicy, the veggies that came with it, were also well cooked and full of flavor, simply amazing! The Brisket Stew was so good! My husband said the meat was tender, juicy and delicious, the turmeric potato mash was a nice hint to the whole dish. We ended our meal with an order of sweet treats, the Lebanese Pastries. It was my first time trying them, so my only fave was the pistachio one, very yummy! I would recommend Nuba 100%!

We booked a table for 5pm at Nuba. We were a bit early so they offered us some water as we waited for our table. Nuba has a lot of options on their menu. You can choose from hot and cold mezzes (appetizers), salads, soups, entrees and desserts. We tried 'Najib's special' which is fried cauliflower. It is so good! Perfectly fried and comes with tasty dipping sauces. Also tried the garden falaffel which was delicious. The entree we chose was the lamb sirloin. A good blend of spices and the meat is cooked to your liking. The entree also came with an arugula tomato salad and fingerling potatoes. All the flavours were unique and delicious and we'd definitely come back to try their other dishes.

Brought my parents to Nuba for the first time and they were thoroughly impressed (my mom is a very harsh food critic). The main reason I brought them there is because of the healthier options that Nuba provides. We got the LA Feast platter so that they could try some of the more popular options Nuba has to offer. The trio of dips and the little appetizers were amazing. We liked how the platter came with shrimp, chicken, and lamb. The highlight of the dinner has got to be the falafel (ordered separately) and the cauliflower. I'm not a big cauliflower person, but they got me wanting more. We loved the unique blends of spices and flavors. Definitely looking forward to going back and trying more things.

Had a great time with delish food and excellent service. Can't recommend First table more highly and Nuba, what a great way to enjoy a night out with friends.

We had a great time here. We enjoyed salad, chicken, and lam. Especially, our 7years old son really loves the chicken meal and ate the whole plate. We definitely will return.

Food was excellent, as expected. Having the discount lead us to try one extra mezze compared to what I would usually allow myself. Great flavours, cute tucked-away location. One main dish was forgotten, but the server was professional and admitted it before bringing it promptly after. Had a fun time with friends!

The food is very good. The service was fantastic. The only downside we found was that the portion were smaller than what we expected. Glad we only paid 50% of the bill.

Amazing food and quick service! Ordered 8 hot mezze plates between our group of 4 and we were full. Everything was tasty and shareable.
